sponsor spotlight: {Always a Blogsmaid, Never a Blogger}

Hi pretties!  Today, I'm going to be spotlighting one of my new sponsors, Cassie from the adorable blog, Always a Blogsmaid, Never a Blogger.  She has written a little bit about herself and I will share it with you below.  Be sure to follow this hilarious, beautiful gal as she makes her way through the twists & turns of post-grad life! -Megan

As we Southerners say.......Hey y'all!
My name is Cassie from Always A Blogsmaid, Never A Blogger and I am so excited to be one of Style Me Swanky's sponsors!!

There are 5 things you should know about me:

1. I love to blog. Don't let my blog name fool you - Reading blogs are the first thing I do when I get to work.
I look forward to reading about your lives and I try to put a little humor when I type about mine.

2. I love to travel, mostly to see my friends.
I will travel near and far to see the people I love.
It just so happens they all live at least 3 hours away from me.

3. I just purchased my first car! Big deal.
I drove the same car since high school up until February of this year.
That Altima was 12 years old when someone bought her from me.
Best. day. Ever.

4. I don't have a boyfriend/fiance/husband.
I am single; hence the name of my blog.
It is a spin-off to the Always a bridesmaid, Never a Bride.
Once you read my blog, you will see that I am perfectly fine the way things are...
God is in control and He will put the man that can keep up with me when it's time for it.

5. I love to make other people laugh.
It is what makes me complete, as corny as that sounds.
So please, head on over to my little blog and follow me if I make you giggle at all.

If you leave a comment, I will be your bff for life.

Hope to hear from you soon! (:

These are a few of my favorite things {part 2)

It has been quite a while since I did the first installment of this series, but here are a few more items to add to the "favorites" pile!

1.  Nars Blush in Gaiety: This is a cool-toned, pink blush that completely brightens up a complexion!  It's somewhat frightening in the pan, but looks incredibly natural on the skin.  After making my blush rounds through the cosmetic counters (so to speak), I've decided that Nars has incomparable quality.  It lasts long, applies beautifully, and has pretty packaging! (Always a plus!) I purchased it about a month ago and have been using it almost every day, along with my next favorite...

2. Nars Blush in Orgasm (I hate that they chose this name!): I've purchased this before, but was less than thrilled.  However, I've recently come back to it and can't understand how I ever passed it up.  This is the prettiest coral shade, with more peachy/golden tones than pinks.  It gives you a subtle sunkissed glow & should absolutely be a staple in every girl's makeup bag!

3.  Benefit Hoola: I've tried a TON of bronzers.  Estee Lauder, Nars, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Clinique, Lancome, Chanel, Smashbox, Too Faced ...I can go on and on.  This is by far my favorite.  It's the perfect shade for my skin in which to add contour.  I place it under my cheekbones, along my jawline, on my temples ...then kind of, well, blend it a bit all over where the sun naturally hits my face.  I hate the bulkier packaging, but the truth is that I feel like a puffy fish-face without it.  Plus, it's a better value than other brands at $28 for .40oz.

spring wants

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5

As each day passes, I get more and more ready for long summer days.  I daydream about bright colors and the pretty sunshine.  These are some items that I've got my eyes on.  The most classic boat tote.  Even though I already own one, it's more of a necessity than a "want."  The prettiest coral lipstick you've ever placed on your pout  A cool, minty polish for your tootsies.  Neon and a statement necklace ....enough said.  Finally, a flirty, feminine dress that comes in the prettiest shade of yellow, too.  All on the list.

P.S.  It has been a whole week since my last post.  Woo!
Whenever that happens, it's because I'm overwhelmed with work or other engagements.
Wednesdays are now supposed to be for wedding posts, but I decided to go with a normal one since I haven't talked to you in a week!  I hope to get back to regular posting now.  Thanks for sticking around!!

pep in my step

These pretty babies are on their way to my doorstep.
Makes for a happy Tuesday in my world.

Hope you all are enjoying some pretty weather! It's 80, sunny, and slightly breezy here.  I spent my lunch break browsing through a few outdoor shops and visiting our reception venue.

I'm really enjoying the ease of getting ready in the mornings.  Here's a dress I would wear in the winter with tights, boots, a sweater and a thick scarf.  I just paired it with a really lightweight scarf and sandals, then was on my way.  I've said it a million times ...scarves are the best transition pieces.

We had quite the eventful weekend -especially considering that our normal weekend in Charleston consists of dinner, Redbox movies, and maybe a little shopping or walking around downtown.

A group of us went to dinner on Friday night at Wasabi.  Honestly, after falling in love with O-ku, I swore that I'd never eat at Wasabi again because the standard of sushi just doesn't compare.  To my surprise, the food was amazing.  After dinner, we put our dancing shoes on & went to Trio, a big club downtown. I haven't been there in almost a year, so it was an interesting change.

...and because I love you all (knowing my pretty friend featured in this video is going to kill me), please enjoy:

On Saturday, we went to Folly Beach to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  It was a gorgeous day at the beach -and tons of people were there to prove it!
I only snapped a couple photos...

On Sunday afternoon, we decided to go back to the beach, but this time, to lay out & take advantage of the 80 degree day.  It was nice to get a little color on these shoulders!

Hope you all had happy weekends!

The Friday Five

1. {bright doors}

2. {little perks}
...a rose I got from the mechanics at a small, family owned tire shop.  Plus, they changed my tires for no charge.  Love the little gestures that can make a week 50 times better.

3. {Lilly Pulitzer}
Love this Lily dress.  Anyone know whether it runs small or large?

4. {new favorite inexpensive pinot grigio}

5. {St. Patrick's Day}
I'm really not one to be festive when it comes to St. Patrick's Day.  However, this day happens to fall on a Saturday and we've got a lot of friends coming into town for various reasons.  One of my bests, Emily, will be here to celebrate her 26th birthday.  We've got a big group going to get sushi tonight & will wear green tomorrow at Folly Beach for a St. Patty's celebration! Time to celebrate my 25% Irish heritage!
 What do you all have planned?

Meet Our Photographer!

Picking a photographer will probably end up being the hardest decision throughout my entire wedding planning process.  Charleston has an abundance of extremely talented photographers, each with a varying quality that makes he or she special.  I've looked at (what seems like) hundreds of photographer's websites, trying desperately to decide whether I wanted to go with someone with a more artistic style or with a more clean-cut approach to capturing important moments.  I truly believe that the photographer we picked encompasses both of these qualities in her work.  Her photography is timeless, but yet she still brings a stylistic edge to every photo she takes -an edge that makes her photos unlike any other photographer's.  I'm thrilled to say that our wedding photographer is... (drum roll please)
